The Galway City Community Training Center is co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund YOUTH EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020.

WHO WE ARE

We provide a two year training course for early school leavers and lone/independent parents at level three on the National Qualifications Framework and our programmes include a literacy intervention and a number of support measures.  Previous learners have gained employment in restaurants, coffee shops, kitchens, hotels, takeaways, retail stores, garages, market gardens, garden centres and as landscapers.  Other past learners have gone on to work as legal/medical secretaries and personal assistants in offices, hospitals and financial institutions. Some past learners have gone on to further education, studying at GTI, GMIT, NUI Galway , Galway Community College and VTOS.

To provide early school leavers and lone/independent parents with a supportive and caring learning environment where learners are helped and encouraged to develop their unique skills and talents.

To provide early school leavers and lone/independent parents with the skills, knowledge and self – confidence to gain nationally recognised qualifications and progress to employment, further training and education.
